David Selby, DO
Board Certified Family Medicine located in Lake Oswego, OR
About Dr. Selby
I am the founder of Lake Grove Family Medical Clinic here in Lake Oswego, Oregon. I’m a Board-Certified Family Practice Doctor with over 35 years of quality health care experience with patients. I received my medical degree from the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. Afterward, I completed an internship and residency at Des Moines General Hospital. As a specialist in family medicine, I believe in the whole-patient approach to integrative medicine. Each patient is a different individual with specific needs. In all my time in medicine, I have learned that the art of medicine is understanding that individual symptoms may be similar, but each person is different.
Along with being a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Senior Aviation Medical Examiner, I am trained to provide flight physicals and evaluations for the FAA. As a pilot myself, I enjoy working with other airmen. I have been a licensed pilot since 1974. I am an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) who is certified by the FAA to provide all class physicals, including private pilot, air traffic control, and commercial/airline pilot medical certification. I have done extensive training in mental health and drug/alcohol recovery. As a result of these trainings and certifications, I am currently the only Human Intervention Motivation Study (HIMS Independent Medical Sponsor) IMS (Independent Medical Sponsor) in Oregon. HIMS is an occupational substance abuse treatment program specific to pilots.
When I am not spending time with patients and the office, you can find me raising my granddaughter with my wife, Debbie. In addition to raising three children, I spend my free time enjoying photography, white water rafting, scuba diving, and of course flying.
Dr. David Selby welcomes any individuals or families seeking high-quality medical services at Lake Grove Family Medical Clinic.
